Will it fit?

Here is our turning capacity, drawn to scale. Anything up to 450mm diameter and a metre long goes on the chuck lathes, subject to weight. Repeat work up to 65mm diameter runs off the bar on twin-spindle, twin-turret lathes.

Milling runs on full 5-axis machining centres and a twin-pallet DN Solutions VC430 that takes parts up to 350kg.

Approved, and we can prove it

Our quality system has been certified to ISO 9001 by BSI since November 1988. For rail work we are a RISQS verified supplier for machined components, fabricated components and brake blocks.

Parts are checked on our CMM and Keyence image measuring system, and we supply PPAP, FMEA, ISIR, SPC, certificates of conformity and material certs to your requirement.

How we check every part

Chris Heyworth at his grinding machine

Family-run for three generations, with people who stay

Nick Kindon is the third generation of his family to run Standish Engineering. Chris Heyworth started here at 15 on 1 May 1977, and now runs the grinding section that most machine shops send out.

We train our own. Kyle joined as a trainee at 17, finished his apprenticeship with flying colours and went on to learn multi-axis turn-mill programming on FANUC controls. Lewis joined from Standish High School in 2024.
